Opening next Friday at the IFI in Temple Bar, The President is the new film from acclaimed Iranian director Mohsen Makhmalbaf. A special preview screening will take place at 7.30pm on Monday 13th July with a very special Q&A session taking place with the director Makhmalbaf.
The film, which premiered at last year’s Venice Film Festival, takes place in an unnamed Arab state with a bedraggled dictator struggling to flee an imminent uprising. Makhmalbaf’s tale is a darkly humorous allegorical tale of corruption and power and a worthy addition to the Makhmalbaf cannon.
