Snoop Dogg has made it. His painstaking self-promotion has given him such a prominent public profile that it actually doesn’t matter what his music sounds like. A few guest verses on other people’s hits will keep up the pretence that he is a serviceable rapper. He’s not. He’s staler than Maddy jokes, and having Lil Jon shout “whadditdo!” on his album three years after he was relevant definitely doesn’t help.
