DESCRIPTION:We were always somewhat sceptical of the value of the IMRO awards in such a small country. Did it really matter whether Vicar Street or The Olympia or The Academy is venue of the year? Who could ever knock the Roisin Dubh off their pedestal in the west? This was until Another Love Story won best small festival last month and we appreciated the significance of this recognition to them and how it might even help a grant application. Homebeat jammed the Sugar Club with the sublime Christian Loeffler last month (please play ALS!) and now\, another friend of theirs\, Lambert is about. He brings the keys (minimal opulent sounds from his piano) while Swimming brings the beats (digital sounds mixed with field recordings).

Fashion  includes a gown from the first collection by celebrated Irish designer Sybil Connolly who launched her couture line in 1957 as well as Japanese visionary Issey Miyake\, Kansai Yamamoto who is known for his avant-garde kimono designs\, including ones worn by David Bowie in his Ziggy Stardust Tour\, master tailor Yohji Yamamoto and the ever edgy Comme des Garçons which is led by Rei Kawakubo. \nUntil April 29.

DESCRIPTION:Grayson Perry has become a somewhat unlikely interrogator and investigator of class and masculinity leading to a series of publications and TV shows. The Vanity of Small Differences harks back his 2012 take on the Rake’s Progress through a series of six tapestries. “The tapestries tell the story of class mobility\, for I think nothing has as strong an influence on our aesthetic taste as the social class in which we grow up. I am interested in the politics of consumerism and the story of popular design but\, for this project\, I focus on the emotional investment we make in the things we choose to live with\, wear\, eat\, read or drive. Class and taste run deep in our character – we care. This emotional charge is what draws me to a subject\,” says Perry.
