SUMMARY:Biophilia Tours At The National Botanic Gardens\, Dublin
DESCRIPTION:The Office of Public Works (OPW)has announced the return of the much loved ‘Biophilia Tour’ to the National Botanic Gardens\, Dublin this January. The ‘Biophilia Tour’ invites visitors to immerse themselves in the Gardens’ beautiful surroundings and discover how spending time in nature can enhance health and wellbeing\, offering visitors the opportunity to reconnect with the natural world and learn about the science and benefits of biophilia. \nFor those wondering\, Biophilia\, the instinctive human connection to nature\, is increasingly important in our modern\, urbanised world. It is believed that humans have evolved to have a natural bond with nature\, one which our increasingly urbanised life threatens to disrupt. \nThe tours take place every Wednesday and Saturday throughout the month of January. \nFor more information see botanicgardens.ie.

SUMMARY:Forest Bathing
DESCRIPTION:Forest bathing emerged in Japan in the 1980s as a physiological and psychological exercise called shinrin-yoku (“taking in the forest atmosphere”). The purpose was twofold: to offer an eco-antidote to burnout and to inspire residents to reconnect with and protect the country’s forests. Now Aurora Procopio is bringing us to the forest with a recent series of experiences in the Furry Glen in the Phoenix Park. She leads a walk followed by a slow\, gentle mindful movement practice. She will offer a number of ‘invitations’ which will help you to deeply connect with Nature. Just don’t confuse them with some of the traditional Furry Glen invitations.  \nmycommunityspace.net/forest-bathing \nNext outing Sunday September 25 from 11am-2pm.

SUMMARY:Fringe Festival - A Rain Walk
DESCRIPTION:Take a rain walk – a walk in the rain accompanied by the recorded voices of children from across Ireland and the UK. With their guidance\, the rainfall will become your own private theatre\, a space in which to observe\, imagine and play.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBecause we are no better at predicting when it might rain than you are\, everything you need to experience the show is contained within a little box that is handed to you when you purchase a ticket. Keep it safe until the weather turns. \nThen\, whether in a drizzle or a deluge\, alone or with friends or family\, we invite you to step outside\, feel the rain on your face\, and think about your place in a world that is changing so swiftly around you. \nEach boxed experience can be used by an individual person\, while families and groups may choose to buy a box for each person or share one (up to 5 people). Each audience member will require their own digital device on which to download and listen to the piece.

SUMMARY:Walk Highlight: Dublin Decoded
DESCRIPTION:“And on your left you’ll see the Maldron Hotel which dates back to 2018 and on your right you’ll see the new Hyatt Centric whose foundations were finalised in 2019. Did we mention the Aloft or the forthcoming Staycity on the site of the Tivoli or the Premier Inn on Newmarket Square? At least\, that will be something to look forward to in 2022.” \nDublin Decoded has earned a fine rep for its various walking tours in the city and this one blends in the shock of the lopsided new with its rich historical tapestry. Blackpitts\, Tenters\, Weavers\, Newmarket – it’s all changing utterly round these parts but there are some constants too. Encompassing “former breweries and tanneries\, early textiles\, philantrophy. revolution\, controversial planning decisions and iconic social housing\,” here is a chance to enlighten yourself and maybe feel a little enraged also.
