SUMMARY:Gaia
DESCRIPTION:Gaia is a touring artwork by artist Luke Jerram. Measuring seven metres in diameter and created from 120dpi detailed NASA imagery of the Earth’s surface the artwork provides the opportunity to see our planet\, floating in three dimensions. While Trinity College undertakes its massive conservation project which has emptied the shelves of the Long Room\, it’s fair to say the cash cow that is this space needed a new spectacle and it comes in this hyper photo/selfie friendly spectacle of Gaia – the name for the personification of the Earth in Greek Mythology. There’s a sense of awe and wonder looking at earth revolving in such a profoundly landmark location. The Book of Kells is still on display and included in admission. \n \nTrinity College\, €19

SUMMARY:Dublin Trans Pride
DESCRIPTION:Dublin’s first-ever Trans Pride march\, inspired by similar events in Scotland\, Brighton and Northern Ireland\, comes after transgender activists didn’t feel that there was a space made for trans issues at Dublin Pride. SUMMARY:Petria Linehan Pop-Up
DESCRIPTION:Petria creates an ever-growing collection of garments inspired by the Irish landscape and the style and stories of the past. Her work is based around the values she holds in everyday life – the idea that less is more\, and that investing in quality and authentic design will enrich the daily life of an individual. \nBorn and raised by the sea in Ireland\, Petria now lives with her family in the Hudson valley\, New York. She chooses to work with high quality fabrics that recall home\, enabling her to maintain a close connection to the rich heritage of craft in Ireland and the UK. In particular\, Donegal tweed\, Irish linen\, Scottish cashmere and English ventile cotton – fabrics that are steeped in tradition\, hard-wearing and long-lasting. Each garment is carefully produced from a small factory in New York City and the knitwear is made in Ireland. \nRespect for the people she works with\, her customers and the environment are just as important as the products themselves. The shapes are simple\, classic\, modern\, comfortable and relaxed – seasonless pieces that become foundational objects in your life\, reflecting the plain beauty of well made things\, to be worn and loved for decades to come. \nAlso Saturday: 10am-6pm \n \n
