SUMMARY:Libertine Market Crawl - A New Flea Market + Pub Crawl in Dublin 8
DESCRIPTION:Léna Seale got in touch to tell us about ‘Libertine Market Crawl‘\, an independent new event she is organising in the historic Dublin 8 district this coming weekend. Billed as a lively ‘Flea Market Pub Crawl’ through the Liberties\, the event features fifty market stalls spread across four pubs within walking distance of each other in The Liberties.\n\nThe first edition takes place on Sunday\, May 7th from 12pm – 5pm\, with four participating pubs involved. Beginning at The Thomas House\, the suggested walking route then takes in Dudley’s and Lucky’s\, finishing up with a live music performance at Arthur’s Blues and Jazz Pub. \nEvents on the day include tarot reading in Dudley’s\, a DJ in Thomas House and Coke Lane Pizza in Lucky’s\, with Alt Pop/Indie musician Leila Jane playing in Arthur’s from 2-4pm. \nThere will also be a wide range of stalls from records\, vintage clothes\, art and items including some of the old Guinness memorabilia associated with the area. \nThe event is family and pet friendly. Entry is free and everyone is welcome. \nThe organisers intend to run the event on the first Sunday of each month\, with plans for the addition of even more pubs and stalls to the next event. Keep an eye on their Instagram for updates and further details. \n @libertinemarket

SUMMARY:Chunky Salsa
DESCRIPTION:Space Mango presents Chunky Salsa at Hen’s Teeth. Watch a cool documentary about how the music genre\, ‘SALSA’ became such a big deal in New York in the ’70s. The film explores how the city’s melting pot of different cultures like Africans\, Europeans\, Americans and Latinos collided\, giving birth to this unique musical style that influences artists all around the world to this day. Grab some Blanco Nino tortillas for refreshments and get your hands sticky with the Hot Chunky Salsa made by Dublin-based Mexican filmmaker Daniel Bolanos. \nHey Rose will be in charge of the tunes\, with some old and not-so-old Latin music.

SUMMARY:The Whiskey Sessions at The Rag Trader
DESCRIPTION:Due to the success of their first event\, The Whiskey Sessions will be returning Tuesday 29th of April from 6:30 pm in The Rag Trader. For a night of music and whiskey tasting be sure to join The Whiskey Trail for their second Whiskey Session. \nDoors will be open from 6.30 pm where we will taste various expressions from four of Ireland’s leading whiskey producers. Expect expressions from Lambay Whiskey\, Liberties Whiskey\, Irish Distillers and Prizefight\, all introduced by representatives of each brand. \nMusic will be supplied by Irish musicians who will talk us through each tune and provide ample accompaniment to your dram. Singing is not mandatory but greatly encouraged! \nThe venue is The Rag Trader on Drury St in Dublin’s Creative Quarters. The Rag Trader was a recent nominee for whiskey bar of the year in the Sky Bar Awards and we’re sure you’ll enjoy the cosy setting for this evening of whiskey and music. \nTickets are €25 and can be purchased by clicking the following link \n  \n \nMethod & Madness Pot Still – Irish Distillers – Michael Carr \nThis special Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey has been matured in a combination of ex-oloroso Sherry and ex-Bourbon barrels before being transferred to chestnut casks sourced from the Isére region in France.\nMethod and Madness is the second of it’s batch and reinforces Irish Distillers’ “continued commitment” to experimentation and innovation at the Midleton Distillery. \n  \n \nLambay Whiskey – Small Batch – Calium \nOnly the finest triple distilled whiskey distillates have been hand-selected to perfect Lambay Whiskey Small Batch Blend. A blend of malted barley and grain whiskey\, is triple distilled\, matured in bourbon barrels with a pleasant cognac cask finish. \n\n \nIrish Distillers – Jameson Caskmates IPA Edition – Conor Timmons\nIrish Distillers is Ireland’s leading supplier of spirits and wines and producer of the world’s most well- known and successful Irish Whiskey. Led by Jameson\, their brands are exported to over 130 markets. Jameson Caskmate IPA Edition was finished in barrels that previously held craft IPA beer\, giving this whiskeys it’s light citrus notes and a subtle hint of hop bitterness. \n\n \nLiberties Whiskey – Copper Alley – Alan Callanan\nCopper Alley is a 10 year old single malt that was initially aged in traditional ex-American Bourbon oak before given a finishing period in fine 30 year-old Oloroso sherry barrels. Just 31 sherry casks were chosen for this bottling which is limited in numbers. Copper Alley is in the heart of Dublin city and was once a bustling centre for tradesmen\, craftsmen and whiskey taverns. \n  \n \nQuintessential Brands – Dead Rabbit Whiskey – Liberties Whiskey \nThe Dead Rabbit bar in New York have now launched their own brand of Irish whiskey. Co-founders Sean Muldoon and Jack McGarry have collaborated with Darryl McNally from Dublin Liberties Distillery to launch a five year old blend to mark the bar’s fifth anniversary. Comprised of both malt and grain\, this whiskey was initially matured in ex-Bourbon barrels casks and then finished in virgin oak American casks. \n \nPrizefight – Prizefight Secret Cocktail – Ben Curtis\nPrizefight is a unique Irish whiskey distilled in West Cork Distillery and aged in barrels sourced from Tamworth Distilling New Hampshire\, USA. The rye barrel maturation has added some subtle mint and herb notes whilst giving the whiskey a fresh and lively character. Join us for this whiskey session for the chance to try one of Prizefights delicious secret cocktails. \nIrish Whiskey Trail \nPhone: 00353 85 774 7005 \nEmail: info@TheWhiskeyTrail.ie \n#EatDrinkExplore
