Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Skeletons
Single Review 01 February 2010
Yeah Yeah Yeahs Skeletons
Although It’s Blitz! seems to have been out for an eternity at this stage, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs have released a new single off their acclaimed third album. One of the more understated moments from the LP, ‘Skeletons’ could slide in comfortably on the Karen O-helmed Where the Wild Things Are soundtrack but fans of the trio's new electro sound may be disappointed. Dominated by the iconic frontwoman’s quirky and vulnerable vocals, the new single is a far cry from the attitude-infused discoball of ‘Heads Will Roll’ and ‘Zero’ and is backed by a fittingly spooky, Burton-esque video. The band gets extra brownie points for the lush acoustic version of this release which is a stripped bare and even more poignant take on this tune.
