Lindstrom & Christabelle - Baby Can't Stop
Single Review 19 January 2010
Apart from his unquestionably bizarre Christmas single two years ago, Lindstrom has rarely strayed from the down-tempo disco edits on which he's made his name. His latest collaboration with Norwegian songstress Christabelle finds the cosmic disco don deep behind the lines of pop territory. Opening with an arpeggiated robot vocal that's straight up vice city, Baby Can't Stop sounds like a lacklustre, Scandinavian Michael Jackson cover. Christabelle's vocal is lost amongst the barrage of full frontal trumpet, which wouldn't be out of place on a game show theme tune. Belgian duo Aeroplane, salvage the release with an excellent stripped down remix.
