Although Zomby is constantly referencing the fact that he does indeed like to smoke hash, he's only young so we'll let him away with it. The mysterious South London beat smith has been churning out his 8-bit, glitchy, dubstep for a few years now and is cultivating quite a reputation for himself. With several releases on seminal label Hyperdub, Zomby turned some heads with the release of his debut album ‘Where were U in 92' on Werk records. In a move away from his signature sound, the album embraces jungle and hardcore and takes us on a nostalgic trip to Rave's yesteryear. Whether Zomby was just indulging an itch that needed to be scratched, or this is his new direction remains to be seen. Either way, Mud have enlisted his services for the Twisted Pepper basement, and if I were a betting man, I'd say its well worth a punt.
