A night of dubstep at Kennedy's Underground may have the safe bet of Jazzsteppa (we won't even attempt the random capitalizations) topping its bill, but the real draw is Untold. Having been a label boss throughout the advent of jungle, drum n' bass, and 2-step, Jack Dunning's been there, done that, bought the breakbeat - his forays into bass-inflected dance have pointed at one of the most progressive minds in London dubstep. In a recent Resident Advisor interview he said 'During an an hour-long set I'll drop tunes that sound a bit like grime, or Baltimore, or deep house, or tribal techno. A couple of them I haven't got a clue what they sound like. I'd rather play it slightly schizophrenic and disjointed to showcase how wide dubstep reaches, than play a well-tuned purist's set.' It's the cross-pollination of the wider dance spectrum with dubsteps intensity which points towards a bright future for Untold, and an unstoppable night in the Underground.
