Graduating from distinction for The External World in 2011 to scooping the Golden Nica award last month at Ars Electronica for Everything indicates the esteem in which computer animation whizz David O’Reilly is currently held.
Narrated by the philosopher Alan Watts, Everything is a philosophical, educational and political statement.
The jury cited: “It is a unique and innovative approach to animation that pushes the boundaries between linear, nonlinear, and interactive experience… Our egos dissolve and gain an entirely new perspective as we realize that we are, in fact, part of everything and everything is us. Whether we look at existence from a position of conflict or harmony, we are connected.”
