Grizzly Bear - Vicar Street - 01 November 2009

Live Preview 01 November 2009

Grizzly Bear

With the release of third album Veckatimest earlier this year Brooklyn-based Grizzly Bear surprisingly ascended to the upper echelons of the indie cool list. What wasn't a surprise was how quickly their date for Vicar Street sold out, showing what a long way the band have come since their Whelan's debut 2 years ago. After pulling the best album of their career out of the bag, the Dublin leg of the current tour sees Droste and his band converting more new fans through their trademark intense harmonies and sheer musicianship. If you're one of the lucky ticket-holders, look forward to hearing tunes off Veckatimest (a surefire contender in many end of year polls) alongside high points from the excellent Yellow House and maybe, just maybe, they'll throw in their first-rate rendition of Spector classic ‘He Hit Me (And It Felt Like A Kiss)' - a cover version worth the ticket price alone.
