Malachy Duggan is a superstar of Galway’s West End, the man in charge at The Blue Note, one of the loveliest little pubs you’ll ever wander into in Galway (and indeed, in Ireland). Duggan initially came to Galway to study before a life turn lead him along the path to The Blue Note: “A part time job collecting glasses in a nightclub quickly developed into a vocation. Many years of hard graft and learning eventually lead to taking over the best boozer in the land, although I may be biased. It’s the love child of Keith Richards and Kraftwerk, a Jägermeister-fuelled, music-driven bastion of disco, house and songs with words”.

“I recently made a pilgrimage to Wolfenbüttel to visit the Jägermeister factory and was blown away by the quality and care that goes into creating every bottle. So when you see how quickly a shot is consumed, I think that the process is a little underestimated. When it comes to celebrating or getting a night going, it is the first and I would say only shot that customers ask for. Last summer we made Jägermeister ice-cream cones which were extremely popular with our customers and if we get a couple of weeks of nice weather again this year they will definitely be making a comeback. Other than that we are pretty traditional, and simply like to serve it direct from our Jägermeister ice-cold tap machine. Not only is the tap machine the perfect way to serve Jägermeister but it is a real talking point with our customers when they see Jägermeister on tap for the first time.

“Jägermeister is an incredible company to work with. From our 40-foot mural to the vision of St Hubert in our beer garden, to support for local acts through Jägermeister Freezer Sessions the quality of the brand and spirit shines through. Next time you are passing by call in and we will have one with you”.
