A new vegan restaurant set to open in Ranelagh next month may well be the first crowd funded venture of its kind.
The brainchild of musician Sharon Shannon, Sharon’s Garden of Vegan began life as a food truck supplying healthy vegan fare at festivals up and down the country.
Such was the demand that the singer subsequently embarked on a crowd funding campaign to secure more permanent premises, quickly reaching its online target figure.
In addition to a dedicated space in Ranelagh, plans for five more restaurants are also in the offing.
