Bitesize: Dingle Wins World’s Best Gin Award

Posted February 22, 2019 in Food & Drink Features

Here at Totally Dublin we’re huge fans of the delicious array of gins emanating from distilleries all over the country, so we were delighted to hear that the makers of Dingle Gin enjoyed a very special night in London last night.

The crafty makers of Dingle Gin carried off the gong for overall best in World at the World Gin Awards Ceremony 2019, and as an added bonus also picked up the award for World’s Best in the London Dry Gin category.

Produced in The Dingle Whiskey Distillery,  the unique flavour profile comes from a tasty selection of locally foraged botanicals from the surrounding County Kerry landscape, which include the likes of fuchsia, bog myrtle, hawthorn, heather and rowanberry from the mountain ash trees.

The end result is an award-winning London dry gin, with a fresh citrus dimension, touches of spice and hints of earthiness reflecting its wild Atlantic Way surroundings.

Conceived by three independent spirits: Liam LaHart, (the late) Oliver Hughes and Peter Mosley the independent family owned Dingle Whiskey Distillery distills and releases 100% its own spirits, which include its Dingle Original Gin, Dingle Distillery Vodka and its small batch release Dingle Distillery Whiskey.
