Sunnydaze Children’s Festival – a new and unique weekend boutique family festival will take place this summer at the giant family playground Rathbeggan Lakes, Co. Meath from 19th to 20th August 2017. Described as “Electric Picnic for Kids,” this charming, two day fully-programmed family affair with free overnight camping on Saturday for weekend ticket holders, will feature a variety of festival fun for kids (and adults!) of all ages and abilities. Just 15 minutes from the M50, this perfect getaway is easily accessible for day or weekend guests from all across Ireland.
Rathbeggan Lakes is the perfect venue – a giant family playground full of activities for all, offering the chance to stow away those screens and enjoy swan boats, bouncy castles, fairy garden and more- and is the perfect place to host this year’s Sunnydaze Children’s Festival! Here’s what’s on offer:
The Mainstage – live music and entertainment, puppet shows and yoga; Big Bubbles Tent – giant wooden games, Angry Birds, Animal Roadshow, Hammockology; Crannóg Crafts Area; nature crafts and chill-out zone.
The line up includes The Light Runners (African/Irish Reggae band), Reuben The Entertainer from RTE Junior, The Exploration Dome, Pignut Puppet Theatre, Releasing Rhythms (drum workshops), Ras Hattnin (fire dancers), Dublin Circus Project, Stepping Up Dance Arts superhero training plus many more… AND everyone is invited to the Kidisco Fancy Dress Party and could be in for a prize!

Sunnydaze is the sister festival of Sunrise Children’s Festival which was rated a 5 star event last year and featured in The Irish Times 50 Things To Do This Summer with Kids (2016) and The Irish Independent’s 50 Things To Do With Children (2017).
Sunnydaze Children’s Festival runs from 10.00am to 9.30pm on Saturday 19th August and from 10.00am to 5.30pm on Sunday 20th August. The camping grounds open from 8.30am on Saturday morning and are accessible to weekend ticket holders only.
There will also be artisan food, café and cinema. Tickets for Sunnydaze Children’s Festival are available at www.sunnydazechildrenfestival.ie at €179 for a family of 4 weekend ticket, €54 for single adult/child weekend, day tickets from €99 for a family of 4 and from €30 for single adult/child. Under 3s are free. Tickets include some tokens towards family activities at Rathbeggan Lakes while more are available on the day priced at €1 per token.
