Though separate events, these concurrent exhibitions are tied by more than just their dates.

An influential and genre-defining photographer, Nan Goldin made her name in Boston and New York, documenting the LGBT scenes there in the 70s and 80s.

An influential and genre-defining filmmaker from Ireland, Vivienne Dick also worked in New York in the 70s, helping to pioneer ‘No Wave’ film.

The two women ran in the same circles, became friends and featured some of the same faces from their overlapping social circles in their work – a bonus to be able to see exhibitions of their work simultaneously.

IMMA: Friday June 16 – Monday October 15
